You can now pick up your library curbside materials at your convenience when you reserve a library locker.
• Library materials are available to patrons in a contact-free 24/7 Locker service. The library is taking every precaution to ensure that this service is provided in a way that is safe for patrons as well as library staff.
• 24/7 Lockers are located just outside the main entrance and are 24/7.
• 24/7 Locker Pickup is available to ALL library patrons, not just Round Lake patrons.
- Digital Resource Library Cards are for online use ONLY, and will not work for placing holds and picking up items. Patrons will need a regular, full-access library card.
• Appointments can be made up to 24 hours in advance with a 2-hour window for staff to prepare material. We will make same day appointments until 4:00pm.
• To ensure all patrons have equal access to the lockers, requests will only be held for 24 hours after the scheduled appointment time. It items are not picked up, the material will be discharged from the patron account and returned.
• All questions regarding lockers can be directed to Circulation at (847) 546-7060.
1. Patrons place holds on items as usual, through the online catalog or by contacting the Reference Desks via phone, text, or email.
2. Patrons will receive an automated notification when their items are ready for pick up.
3. If you would like to pick up your holds from a locker, you can call Circulation at (847) 546-7060 to request one.
4. During the call, patrons schedule a date and time to pick up items.
5. Staff will provide patrons with the locker number and 5-digit combination.
6. After patrons retrieve their items, they should close the empty locker and lock it with the padlock.
7. All items placed in lockers will already be checked out to the patron's library account.
If the patron no longer needs an item when they pick it up, they can place it in one of the book returns and it will be removed from their account.
• Most library items are available for pickup in a locker, as long as they will fit safely inside without being damaged, including Library of Things items.
- Patrons will be notified when they schedule their appointment if items will not fit in the locker.
• Lockers will also be used for patrons picking up craft and program supplies. Arrangement for this type of pickup would be made through the Adult or Youth Services Department.
• Items sent for holds through Interlibrary Loans, especially OCLC, may not be available for pickup in a locker based on item type, durability, and the owning library's lending policies.
• During inclement weather, lockers may be temporarily unavailable. If lockers are still available, some weather-sensitive items may not be available for pickup in a locker.
• If patrons have difficulty reaching very high or low places, they can let staff know when they schedule their appointment. We will try our best to accommodate based on locker availability.
• All materials are being handled by staff following safe handling procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
• Locker compartments and padlocks are sanitized before adding new items.
